I hate being able to see all these frag plugs...Takes away from the tanks natural beauty.. /rant

Take the corals off the plugs and secure them with epoxy and super glue gel.

Eh. Give it time. In a few months, those pugs will get overgrown by the coral and you won't see them. IMO, cutting the coral off the plugs traumatizes the coral.

I use my bandsaw and take off as much as I can the super glue them down after a few months can't even see any plug left.

I dont really have a band saw or the necessary stuff, and it seems a little risky...for me anyways lol.
I just hope they grow super fast and I wont' have to look at them much longer :)

When coraline algae grow on the plugs you will not notice them at all. Then the coral growth will cover them completely

anyone use a dremel to trim the plugs down? If so, what bit do you use?

I used the cutting disc to cut off the post when the plug would come with a post. Found out later I could just use two pairs of pliers, one to hold the plug and the other the post, and just twist the silly things off. Worked on whatever material the plug was made out of. I suppose you could use the same technique to cut the plug disc itself as well.

They will disappear:)

I have had to relocate large acro colonies and it's a site to see that this massive colony is still connected at the very bottom to a tiny frag plug. It gives you a good feeling:)

Okay, lets have some fun. How about some before and after photos?

Ugly, ugly, frag plug:

It's still in there, somewhere :)

I made a rule in my new tank that no frag plus are allowed! Looks so much more natural to me.

Okay, that wasn't nice of Photobucket. I know that image is there, I am looking at it. Try again.

Yuch. Having the photos in 2 separate posts ruins the fun. And, I can't edit my posts yet to put them together. I'll try again.

wow, not only is that much bigger but it looks a lot healthier too! nice stuff!!

I glue lil pieces of rock and sh3lls around the edges to make it look as though its part of the rock. Kind of a mini landscaping to the plug.

I leave the plug on until I decide where the coral is happiest. That way I can move it around no problem. Then I use a blunt knife and ease it under the superglue. The corals and glue pop off every time without damage. Then I glue it down to the rock. I have a nano so the plugs would really detract from the tank.

i do the same thing, or i trim off the disc , making it look as natural as possible
