thoughts?

Not sure where to get it but they do make food grade grease for fittings and other lubricating uses. Any grease is not a sealant however and may or may not address your issue.

Silicone grease works. Cooking oil works. A lil spit can work to get it seated well. A lil on threads can help too. Don’t make too tight

Need to use food grade grease!!!!!!

Years ago plumber's grease meant that it was rubber-safe....typically silicone based. I've noticed a couple years ago that some now were petroleum based. Petroleum based greases are NOT rubber safe. They will eventually cause the rubber to swell. So what your looking for is NON petroleum based grease. I now use Leslie's Pool Lube, and have been using this for over 30 years....when I had freshwater tanks. My rubber parts would last forever.

well once I smelled it I knew it was a no go. the UV is dry so I will take out the union and clean the O ring.

guess i,ll try to find silicone food grade lube for it.

thanks guys

Another option,

Lifegard Aquatics R172036 Silicone Lubricant
