Hello R2R! I'm getting ready to start my 90 gallon build. I have a Shadow V2 which has 3, 1.5" drains. Would it be a bad idea to put a reducer to 1.25" on these? Im only planning on pushing around 900 gpm so i think that would be more than enough to handle that. The other problem is BRS doesnt have 1.5" schedule 40 in right now. The return will only be 3/4" amd the sump is a 40b.

i think that you would be able to get away with 1.25 inch pipes. is your sump in the stand? will you be using the bean animal style?

Yup. I pushed 600gpm on my 40b system with 1" pipes and even then I was only about 1/3 open on my gate valve.

I see no problem going to 1-1/4" pipe.
Marine Depot has several different 1-1/2" bulkhead fittings in stock.
