Alright guys I have got a 29 gallon tank and I'm going to do a 10 gallon sump with it. I bought the shops eclipse overflow and the mighty jet DC return pump. The overflow is a 1 inch and the return pump is 3/4 inch return. My question is where is the best place in the plumbing to go from 1 inch down to 3/4 inch and for the return would it be best to keep it 3/4 inch or would it be better to go to 1 inch at some point in the return? First time plumbing so I'm a little confused. I know it would be best to get it all the same size but I got a good deal on it and couldn't pass it up. Any advice on this would be great! Thanks

Leave the plumbing the way that it is. Do not do any reductions especially in the return. You should look at the pump recommendations about the tubing size. If it is set for 1" do not restrict it to 3/4 as you will loose so much head pressure and risk burining the pump out. The tank should overflow what you put into it.
