I decided to go with the 2 x 55 gallon blue drum, side by side setup for my saltwater mixing station

1. Will the Panhead 30PX be adequate?

2. Should I use 3/4 or 1'' plumbing?

regards

The inlet and output on the panworld pump are 3/4" that should be fine. If you are going to pump water from your mixing station to your tank. You should consider the head pressure. It might become an annoyance if it takes a long time to pump the water back to your tank. If you were going to pump your entire barrel out, it would take 15 minutes without head pressure added.

Here are some great ideas for your reference.

Did you finish your mixing station, I am thinking of two 55 gallon drums as well and looking for ideas on setup.

Yes I did. I actually just finished it over the weekend. I'm really happy with how it came out. If i was to do it again. There are things I would have done differently but overall its great.

What i did wrong:
I wanted to do a stand to be able to gravity drain the containers but I don't have the skills or tools to do something like that.
I also would have liked to have had the bulkheads positioned lower than they are. I didn't realize that the pump would only really work while the top of the bulkhead is under water. That means i have about 5-10 gallons of water i cant pump out.

What i think i did right:
Lots of unions- easy to disassemble for cleaning
no leaks
A valve above the drain to create back pressure
overall measuring and symmetry
I like the colors
Redundancy of the RODI unit. I have a Tunze RO controller backed up by a float valve. if both those fail i have a leak detector on my apex that will turn off the RO controller and will again close the solenoid valve.
