Hi all. First SW tank (pray for me!).

Dry fit my plumbing, but am concerned about doing it right the first time before I glue it. One question I have is should I glue the slip fittings into the tank bottom, or use a different style fitting? I appreciate any and all suggestions!

Welcome to R2R.

I'll assume there are bulkheads in the bottom of the tank and judging by your question, they are slip bulkheads. If that is the case, then yes, you should use PVC cement. The alternative would be threaded bulkheads in which you would obviously use a threaded fitting. You could install a thread to slip adapter and be able to reuse the bulkhead if ever needed.

In either case, I would suggest installing a union as well in case things ever need to be altered/taken apart. Use a union on either side of the pump too so you can remove it for cleaning.

My $.02.
