Plumbing for Tank to sump

All, I'm looking for some suggestions and input. I am working on my new (1st) build. Based on the location of my tank (main floor), I'm able to locate my sump to a area in the basement (straight below the tank). Having just finished drilling 2 1-1/2 in holes in floor (behind the drywall). I will be able to access the bulkhead fittings from under the tank and send them behind the drywall using a double gang access panel. Based the turns of tubing and the ability to remove it when needed, I would like to use a flexible tubing. My question is what would tubing would you guys recommend? I believe my drain bulkhead is 1" and the return is 3/4".

Let me know if any pictures would help describe what I am trying to say.

They do make flexible PVC pipe and I've used it in a situation with some odd bends in a set up. It worked quite well. Just one option. Check the link below and you may even find it at a big box store nearest you.

That would probably work. My only concern is if the interior is ribbed or grooved (for lack of a better term) like the exterior, it could possibly effect the flow, especially once things get caught and grow in those grooves. Just something to thimk about, and then again, maybe it's not.

That's really good point that I wasn't thinking about. From the pictures, I believe the inside is ribbed. I would not want to make removing this and cleaning it part of normal maintenance.

I appreciate your input and I think I'm going to go with your suggestion. Its better than what I was looking at.

Can I use brass ball valves or do I have to use PVC?

Avoid brass or any other metals. Use pvc valves. Ball valves are better for simple on/off control and gate valves are much better for more precise flow control. In either case, I highly recommend getting a quality valve in lieu of the less expensive "white" ones you buy at the big box stores. The website I linked above has nice valves at reasonable prices.
