Hello, I bought a used Cadlights 50 tank and the gaskets for the bulkheads are questionable and I have been having a hard time trying to find the right sizes. I have tried BRS and a few other places without any luck. I was wondering if I can get these maybe at home Depot? or online or maybe a DIY recommendation.
I need a 1 1/2" gasket and a 3/4" gasket.
Any ideas are welcome!
Thanks

Are you sure none of these will fit?
If not what size / kind of bulkheads are they?
I see a uPvc 3/4 " bulkhead for sale on the Cadlight site
Also if you know the ID and OD

Hi, The ID is 1 /12" for one and the other is 3/4" based on this I ordered accordingly from BRS and in the attached picture is what I got. Am I reading the dimensions incorrectly?
Thanks!

Does the 1.25" gasket fit on the bulkhead that has the 1.5" gasket?

For comparison I took a picture of the original gaskets and the ones I ordered. BRS tech support replied saying these are the correct ones for 1 1/2 " and 3/4" bulkheads.
Clearly I must be missing something.
any ideas? this is my first plumbing project.
Thanks

After looking closer at your pics your gaskets look like they are for 1" and 1/2" schedule 40 bulkheads

Which one did you buy?

Bulkheads are not sized by the ID of the gasket but by the nominal pipe size they will accept. A Sch40 1 1/2” bulkhead, for example, takes 1 1/2” pipe but needs a 2 1/2” hole/gasket. The gasket for a Sch40 3/4” bulkhead has an ID of 1.33 inches, so perhaps that’ll work for your larger bulkhead. A gasket that has a 3/4” ID may be hard to find. Might have to make one.

So the ones I need are schedule 80? is that the discrepancy in size?

It looks to me like you need a 1" and 1/2" schedule 40 bulkhead gaskets. If the measurement of the original gaskets from inside to inside are 1 1/2" and 3/4" the actual sizing of the bulkheads will be smaller than that.

Great, thank you for that answer. I am so confused I thought replacing the gaskets will be straight forward.

Thank you for taking the time to explain the difference!
I think I understand now.
Kind of.. lol

The issue is the non std bulkheads they used has messed up more than just you when it came to plumbing that tank.
@ca1ore has it right
1-1/2 ID would be for a 3/4 inch bulkhead. A 3/4 bulkhead needs a 1-1/2 inch hole . It will be close. See chart

The 3/4 ID is not common for plumbing pipe. Try the hardware store for starters
