Ok so last night I was plumbing my overflow to my wet/dry filter then there's a pump from my wet/dry to my sump and then a pump back up to the tank and I can't for the life of me get those 2 pumps timed right either the one in the wet/dry runs to fast and goes dry or the one is the some runs dry or they don't run fast enough any ideas what to do or am I doing something wrong should I only have one return pump? Do I have to elevate the wet/dry filter higher then my sump to start a siphon.. I'm stuck please help

You will never get the two pumps balanced to pump the same amount all the time.

Use only one pump and plumb the rest to flow by gravity. Use the pump to pump water from your sump to your display, let the display overflow feed your filter, have an overflow from your filter to feed your sump. Hope this makes sense for you.

The best would be to raise the wet dry so it drains to the sump with no pump. You could them use both pumps if you want to return water to the display.

If that is not possible you could just return both pumps to the display.

my .02

I was afraid of that just not sure I can get it high enough I'll have to look, I was also thinking about just making a 10 or 20 gallon wet/dry and sump combo then just use 1 pump
