Hey Guys, Brand new to saltwater just made the switch from chiclids. Im having alot of problems plumbing this new tank it sounds like niagra falls in my basement. I have a 120 gallon with dual overflows , r-300 sump, eflux loop system 1900gph pump, 2100 wave maker and lights. At this point im lost i tried the stock pipes no good i made my own no good out in a reverse dorso no good. If i turn the pump down enough to get some what quiet there isnt enough head pressure to make it up the tank if i gate the pipes down everything gets out of wack or starts surging. Any advice or it is rip it out and start over?????

For some reason I can’t see your video. Is the waterfall sound coming from the overflow, as it enters the Eshoppes sump or as it dumps into the filter sock area?

Its coming from the overflow drains

What are these supposed to be doing?

There is WAY too much air in that plumbing. You'd be better off dialing back one of them to take a full siphon with no air at all, and the other one to take a small amount of water, but no so much that it's gulping for air.

those were my this isnt working online search to try and fix the issue which they didnt lol even with them off still didnt work. i tried to get a full siphon but just ended up just sucking down the overflow they are piped 1" drain and one 3/4 return per overflow

Slightly adjusting the overflow valve, fully opening the return valve, and giving it some time to stabilize. Give that a try.

Im not sure what those are either, are those air hoses they meant to bleed air out?

Yup YouTube called them reverse dorso they got rid of the toilet flush sound but not much else. I tried all combinations of opening overflow and lowering the return I just can’t seem to get them to flow quietly. I’m really thinking rip everything out and try full syphon on one one trickle then the other overflow a emergency drain and just one return

Shorten the down pipe inside the left overflow so it’s fully submerged. Slowly close the corresponding gate valve 1/4 turn at a time until it doesn’t take enough water to lower the overflow water level. If the other one starts surging, dial back the flow on the return.

Get rid of the reverse durso contraptions. They look more like a flood hazard to me.
