Hey guys i'm at the plumbing stag and wanted to share what i have so far, I would like anyone's comments or recommendations on things to change or add in.

Sorry for the rough drawing lol its the best i could do right.

Little break down of the system
- Main display is a 72"x24"x24" (164g)
-Sump 60"x18"x18" (74g)
The tank is on the main floor and the sump in located in the basement under the main tank.

One main question i have is do you think i should run 2 return pipes? This is my first tank that will have the sump in a different location that is not under the tank and i am not sure if i will have enough flow for the tank. I have a Vectra M1 right now, I do have a second pump as a backup on a shelf collecting dust tho so it wont be a problem to add it in if people think i would need it.

Also for the plumbing in the overflow the drains can just be pushed in and not glued for the 3/4" returns what would you recommend? Would it be to much pressure from the pump and blow them off?

PS. the hanging electrical plugs are temporary :D

I think what most are going to wonder is how high are you going to have to pump the water to get it back into the tank. Head Pressure is the key & you may have to run the M1 at full speed to make it. This will cause the pump life to shorten.
I have the M1 & run it less then 50% with roughly 10' of head pressure with 90* fittings added in.

What’s the best way of calculating head pressure? I have never done it before, is it just calculating the horizontal and vertical lengths?

Not sure off the top of my head but you do a search for calculating it & I believe BRS has a calculator to do it.
