Is it ok to have such long drain hoses? This is what came with the tank from the lfs. I could return them for something shorter but it's a 3 hour round trip drive. I have also noticing the red PVC doesn't seat easily into schedule 80 fittings. White pipe goes into the fitting and seats itself much easier. Is this normal?

I'm sure it'd be fine for a bit, but once the water starts to flow through the tubes are going to droop and possibly unhook from the tank side. Maybe find a way to fasten the tubes to the top bracing to prevent the tube sag? Looks like you could also take the gray ends off the tube, cut it down to the right size and re-insert the tube into the gray end.

I'd change them out for some flex PVC if you aren't wanting to do hard plumbing - you can run to Lowes or Home Depot for it.

I don't think these types of lines are cuttable. I will fasten the lines with clamps to the ceiling. I'm more worried about the flow going down, up, and all around.

With fastening the lines up, I don't think you'll have any flow problems since it's draining from the bottom of the tank and the water pressure from above will be enough to push it through. Shortening the lines is mostly cosmetic, but think of it like the toilets and sinks in your house as the p-traps being clog points.
