With the potential of running in the garage to help with noise in the house (per wife). Looking for suggestions on plumbing. Tank will be using duel Herbie overflows, full siphon being two 1.5"/emergency 1" per corner overflow and the return is 4 1". The runs from the tank to the sump will be 30ft horizontal and 14ft vertical. I did pick up a Reeflow Hammerhead from a local refer just in case this is how we decide to go. Tank is 360 gallons and sump is 100gallons at set water depth. I would like to keep flow through the sump around 1000-1500gph.

Question is, should I run both 1.5drains separately the entire distance or can I tie them together to a single 2" run, same for the emergency but with a single 1.5" run. The full siphon I would have a separate gate valve after each bulk head to control water depth correct? Will this work or will it restrict flow to much.

For the return I plan to do a single 1.5" run from the pump to the stand and have a manifold to separate into the 4 1" tank returns.

I would change your drains to 1" siphons and 1.5" emergency. A single 1" siphon moves a ton of water, probably 2000 gph at 6', if your going 14' i would imagine close to 4000gph each. Place your siphon valves near the end of the drain line, by the sump. You can end up with an air pocket in the line if you place it at the bulkhead and it will make noise. Run all your pipes the full length if you can. You could tie some together but it limits your possibilities later on/ complicates things. The hammerhead will work but it is probably not the most energy efficient option out there.

Thanks for the reply, that helps greatly. Was looking for a chart that breaks down water flow through different pipe size and could not find it. I'm getting the Hammerhead at a great price, and have to admit I like the reliability of Reeflo pumps.
