Plumbing Manifold - Gate or Ball Valve?

setting up a new tank and plumbing, when building the manifold - for each of the runs going to a reactor should I use a gate or ball valve? I know to use a gate on the overflow from the tank so you can dial in the flow, but would you need this same control for the reactors or is the ball valve enough control?

I use ball valves. Reactors are not that fussy. If I was rich maybe I would have done gate valves. My manifold has 6 valves.
I think as along as you move them open and shut occasionally they wont freeze up.
One note: On the exit of your manifold be sure to put a valve. You might need to create some back pressure so all your reactors get flow.

Gate valves are always nicer to adjust. If you can afford it, would go with them. If you are on a budget, ball valves will work.

Gates if you can. Ball valves are best for on and off. Gate valves give you a much higher degree of adjustability. I made the mistake on my tank of using a ball on the drain when I should have used a gate. It would have been so much easier adjusting overflow water height..
