Plumbing mixing station

I am plumbing my mixing station this weekend. The water storable containers have 1” Female NPT bulkheads pre-installed. I got 1” male pipe adapter to go in to the bulkhead. Do I need plumbers tape over the threads? Is there a better way to do it?

Yes you need thread tape or a liquid thread sealant on the threads.

Thanks! If I use pipe thread sealant and for some reason need to get the pipe off, is it doable to just remove it?

Yes, the best to use would be Teflon tape so no chemicals get inside the pipe and contaminate the tank. When using Teflon tape it has to be placed on clockwise so it doesn’t unravel as you are tightening the fittings.
