Plumbing multiple tanks

Hello all. I need some input on my new build and the best way to get it plumbed. Im going to have a 180 gallon tank, a 40 gallon sump below it, and a 300 gallon rubbermaid stock tank to the right of the 180 gallon. I want the entire system plumbed together and I have an idea on how to do it but want some more ideas on it. Heres a quick sketch on the setup. The only overflow will be on the 180 gallon tank in the center.

So your intent is to not have an overflow in the 300 back to the sump, what filtration will be on the 300? Since you stated you wanted to plum everything together you're going to have to pull water out of the 300 somehow directing it to the sump or the display tank (which I don't recommend) and then back to the 300...

As for the 300 you can do a overflow two ways. First is a standard signal bulkhead drain (easiest), and the second is a overflow like I did on my refugium, that was silicone into placed (a little more entailed).

The bean on the above is quiet, the signal drain I mentioned will NOT be. Again, either will work, it just depends on what you are willing to take on.

Will the water level in the 300 be higher than that of the sump? You could have an overflow from the 180 go into the 300 and then go from the 300 to the sump by going through the side of the 300.

I think this is my best route to go I think. I plan on having the bottom of the 300 probably 16-18" off the ground so the top of it will be around 40". So the sump under the 180 should be well below that.

I know this was posted a long while ago, but did you ever go through with the plans? how did you end up plumbing it? How did it turn out? what would you have done diffrently? and do you have any pictures? I ask because I'm planning on doing the same setup!
