I am setting up my new tank! I need help plumbing since I have plumbed a tank for many years. It comes with everything for a very basic setup but i need it custom. I attached photos of the sump and stand. So I have a skimmer, UV inline, 1/10 chiller(using MH), and will want to add a phos ban or similar in the future. The pump has a GPH of 1000. The drain is 1 inch and the return is 1/2 inch. It comes with bulkheads. It drains from the bottom of the tank. It has a dual return. I also have a ATO I need to add somehow, and the sump fills the stand. I have a refugium but not sure if I need to add a algae turf scrubber or baffles. I also am used to a sock, so not sure if I should add one or not? I really dont want leaks obviously. And need to use all the safety and convenience things I can. All advice is appreciated and very needed. I have no one here to help locally and just found out hubby has cancer so really need to get the tank cycling so I can focus on him. Thanks for your help!

Its not too hard to accomplish. At a glance I dont see any attachments for the inlet of water to the sump. Second observation is there appear to be metal hose clamps. I would trade those in for a plastic variety. Even stainless will eventually succumb to saltwater corrosion. Simply flow water into the tank have a couple of ball valves handy as well as pvc unions so you can disconnect easily. Utilize one compartment for the skimmer, the skimmer can just be placed within the sump and plumbed separtely no need to put inline. Follow the flow design of the sump to the return compartment place the pump and add another ball valve with a union for easy disconnect. Return to the tank. I use silicone sealer at all joints and bulkheads. You can also use silicone to join pvc pipe if you are uncomfortable with pvc cement. The cement is a permanent bond, but silicone will work here as this is not a high pressure closed system. Measure out your pvc, and estimate your need of elbows etc. Then buy twice as much as you estimate! You can easily return extra elbows. Good luck.
