Plumbing options on 40g prninsula

So I plumbed my 40g breeder. I have one return and one overflow. I came up with the idea since I’m running a high powered pump ( ecotech vectra M1) why don’t I put a T fitting on the return with a valve to get some decent movement for my chaeto ? And five. Will this work?

Maybe add another valve on that line so you can control the flow to the chaeto. But should work well.
