I want to help you like others helped me!always have plenty of unions so you can take everything apart for cleaning, moving, changing, and especially emergencies. Always have a check valve somewhere within ypur return plumbing so no water can back siphon if a return pump were to fail. Also add one ball valve on your drain pipe and return plumbing so you can turn both off as a backup (incase your check valve fails and your home to control the situation) i also added a couple extra ball valves incase you want to add something in the future (in my case a mini algae scrubber) incorporate all of those and youll do just fine! This is my very first saltwater tank/sump and so far so good! Theres always something youll want to change but that's what is so great about the hobby...you can always improve fluency and efficiency in your tank! Hope this and the pics help! Send pics when you do your build im very interested to see what you do!

Exactly! Unions everywhere! Right after your return pump. Before, after, and maybe in the middle of a manifold. Put one each side of a check or ball valve (both of those come in true union styles btw). Anywhere that connects to a part you may want to change out one day.

And buy extra fittings, you can always take them back so long as there's no cement or primer on them.
