I purchased a used cadlights 100 dimensions 47 1/2 x 23 1/2 x 20. I have a cadlight 70 and it came with three holes. This one only has two holes a 2 inch drain an 1.5” return

I’m going to have a trigger sump emerald 34 which has 2 x 1 inch drain pipes.

Looking for any suggestions that would be great

Looking for plumbing suggestions. Best flow as possible and emergency overflow

You could use the 1.5 inch as your main drain, the 2 inch as your emergency drain, and run the return up the back of the tank and over the top. That's how I have my 90 gallon.
Trying to have a clean look.. is the emergency drain important.. anyone had issues

That's what I would do too.

The Herbie 2 drain system is silent and safe. It uses one drain as a siphon that moves most of the water, and one drain that is just an open gravity drain to handle the flow if part of the main drain gets blocked.

If you want to use just one drain, that's fine. It just won't be as quiet if you have too much flow going through it. That being said, if the drain is for a 2" pipe, those can handle quite a bit of water...unless it's a 2" hole, which will fit a smaller bulkhead than 2". Hope that makes sense.

Chances are that's how the previous owner had it configured.

OP could also drill a single 3/4 hole on the back and hard plumb it with a bulkhead for the return. It would limit return to about 900g/h but likely will never go that high.
