So I am running a basement sump with some longer horizontal run to it...Vertically I'll be looking at about 10 foot of rise with a long horizontal run as the sump will be not directly below the tank. That being said, it has 3 x 1" drains and 2 x 3/4" returns...I had originally planned to run just one larger drain, having the three converge into a 2" or do I need a 2 1/2" drain and then runnning a 1 1/2" return having it branch once I get it through the floor...thoughts?

Running your returns at 1.5 for as long as you can will be less head pressure. For your drains, I would prefer 3 1" drains as that way you can easily set up a siphon on 1 (with a gate valve to dial it in), have the second be a trickle drain and the third be your emergency drain.

I would not join the drains either as that would disallow the purpose of each drain.
