Hey guys,

Quick question. Is there anything special I should know about plumbing an external overflow? My last tank was internal and was cut and dry and to be honest, I didn't even do it. I've never had to make any connections before. Any tips?

What type of overflow are you setting up? External overflows are less forgiving and I would make sure of two things. 1. Your return pump is in a chamber in your sump that will run dry before your tank overflows if your overflow stops. 2. When electricity to your return pump shuts off you tank does not drain more water than your sump can handle without overflowing.

In order to help you with plumbing I'd need to know what overflow you're using.

Heres some quick pics of the overflow.
