I was wondering what people use to attach pvc pipes to their slip abs bulkheads? I am also wondering what kind of sealant people use on the threaded fittings that attach to their return pumps? TIA[emoji106]

"The Do's And Don'ts Of Threaded Fittings" that Lasco puts out is a great read:
http://www.lascofittings.com/threads

Short and to the point.

From the article:
Today, there are millions of miles of plastic piping with threaded fittings, providing reliable, leak-free service. However, a tiny percentage of those threaded plastic fittings may leak or break. The reason for this is improper assembly of threaded joints.

The rest of it is practical tips, do's and don'ts, such as:

Don't use Teflon tape, Teflon paste or pipe dope. Do use a sealant.

It's a must-read!

You also can find ABS PVC transition cement. It's a solvent cement with some tweaks to bond to ABS better. For our low pressure applications PVC cement usually does fine.
