Can you drill two 10g tanks on the lower side and attach them with some type of bulk heads on each side and pvc jointing them i only have 23-1/4" inches to work with.
I want one for my refuge other hold sock skimmer and pump.

To answer your basic question, yes you can do that. As far as your specific situation and plan, a diagram of what you are hoping to do might help.

It looks like your space will be the limiting factor - 3-1/4" inches for bulkheads and fittings (and elbows depending on alignment) is not much space. Like @LobsterOfJustice stated, a diagram will help.

Maybe i could dril two hole in the back and connect them that way i got more room behind the tank then i could join then with a union. I was questioning i union inbetween because of my space.
If i do this should i go 2" or 1-1/2" bigger would be better right so it wouldn't get clogged or drilling that big risky on that small of a tank?

Is there a computer app to make a diagram or are you saying i should draw up one?
I usually just wing it and measure as a go lol.

If I were linking 2 tanks I would use more than 2 bulkheads. Two at the top of the waterline and 1
or 2 at the bottom. I would also not use rigid pipe to connect them unless there was no way they could be moved when bumped. I would use spa flex or something flexible. Especially with a 10 gallon. The glass is pretty thin and probably not tempered.

Then they'd have to be small because there wouldn't be much room between the holes and would weaken the structure of the glass.
One bigger is better imo and there not gonna be any moving of the tank until it disconnected and empty.
For the one bulk head at the bottom that would just spill all over my floor lol.
You'd need 4 total if i did top and bottom no more or less.
My main question is there any way to connect them side by side without a conventional bulk being used.
But I've already scatched that idea and decide to connect them from the back with one 90° on each side and a union meeting in the middle give or take doesnt have to be prefect.
Multiple holes is risky i hate drilling the two tbh lol.

I would raise the second tank higher and use the single bulkhead as an overflow back into the first tank. Then just pump the water in.

As far as multiple holes in small tanks I have found that the electrical bulkheads found at HD and Lowes work quite well. You find them in the electrical conduit section. You just have to make sure you remove the seam ridge with some sandpaper or they will leak.

There no raising going on here that not my situation. It done btw and working great with how i did it thanks for the input.
