I have a Sicce ADV 5.5 that i am connecting to my mixing station via pvc. Do i take the pipe and use the pvc solvent and attach it that way as a perm or is there a different way?

I've contacted Sicce but no response.

Thanks

They are screw on PVC fittings right? Just use Teflon tape between the screw on fittings. You don't really want to use PVC cement on the pump as it will never come off. If you need to seal it, Silicone would be better to use on the pump itself.

I glued my pump to the pvc, I used a universal glue that works on abs plastic

These Sicce pumps have o-rings that make the seal so no need for Teflon or glue. I agree to put a union as close to the pump as possible to help with alignment during install.

DO NOT use plumbers putty! I made a $200 paper weight trying to be smart and using putty. It breaks down the plastic and all the thread just come apart.

So take the oring and put it around the PVC? the only O-ring that I have goes on the inside of the connection from the insert to the pump.

okay i found the part that has the threads and the insert side. So i'll buy a coupler and use it. Seems it feel out of the box while i was in the garage. Got it figured out!

Sorry i was out for a few days. I see after your next post you did not have all the pieces so was confused.
And yes you will either need to use the barbed fitting as shown in pic from above post  or the sleeve fitting which you would need to pvc cement to your pvc pipe. The barbed is cool because like shown above you add soft tubing and this reduces vibration and therefore noise.

Here is mine. I used some soft plumbing to reduce vibrations. Then I can just unscrew the little ring and easily slip out the pump to clean it. Mine is an SDC though so it might be slightly different.

That hose is too stiff and too short to do much in terms of vibrations, these pumps have little anyway.

If that's what you're trying to achieve, get a short run of silicone hose for that. BRS sells by the foot.

To the OP, generally speaking with all glue or 'cement' fittings to the pump.

What I do - I glue a union but leave about 1-1/2" of pipe between the pump and the union. This way if you ever want to change things around you can still cut the union off and have enough pipe to use different union/fittings.

I do the same but use flex pvc.

Yeah that pump is so quiet it didn't really matter. But yeah I probably should have used the silicone tubing.
