Plumbing question...

So I've spent about an hour and a half working in my plumbing for my tank tonight think its looking good then I notice the letters NSF-dwv. So just seeing the letters NSF I think "Not Safe For" so I decide to google it and it tells me that it's used as a drain pipe not for portable water... So can I use this for my plumbing or not? I really wish I knew the questions to ask before I bought stuff and spent the time. Oh we'll better than finding out after it was all up and running if there is an issue.

is it the white pipe that is the same as your kitchen/ bathroom sink drain... if so its fine.

I just checked mine and it says NSF-dw... but its what we all use pretty much.... unless I screwed up a couple yrs ago lol

I think it is "national sanitation foundation". If you're using PVC you should be just fine

Did a quick search and it says that pipe with the NSF stamp means it passed a test that the national sanitation foundation deems necessary. You're all good.

but ur search is right in the fact that it is used as a drain pipe... I want to say because of size and not being pressure rated, or rated to handle as much pressure as a faucet line... but could be wrong its been a few years since ive looked at it lol
