Hii all,

My overflow and return connections to my sump are hose connections. Is it possible or advised to plump it with hard pvc as i like the new vertex looks alot.

I currently have all of them plumbed with flexible silicone and flex pvc

Is there a way to hard plumb this?

Why should i do it.

Why shouldnt i do it?

Thanks

I do not see a reason why not. If you do hard plumb it make sure you take it a part to clean it.

I prefer a combination of hard pipe and soft tube. I hard plumbing my drains and use soft tubing as my returns. Hard plumbing your return will decrease head pressure from your pump and decrease efficiency but hard plumbing your drains has no negative affect.

I mean which piece can i use to connect the hose connection to a hard pvc part?

Ah, you'll need a barbed adapter. These fittings will have female threads on one side (you'll also need a threaded male adapter for the hard pipe) and a hose barb on the other side.
