Plumbing reactors with barbs need help!

So I got 1/2” barbs from brs to plumb my reactors in and there 1/2” black silicone tubing to go with it. But the 1/2” black silicone tubing doesn’t fit over the brs 1/2” barb.. what do I do?

Is the tube 1/2 inside diameter ?
And the barb 1/2 inside as well.

I run really hot water over them and slip them together while hot.

Salty is right. Try to soften it up a bit. Slip it over .will give you a better seal also.
