Hey guys

I’m planning a new build - a 260 gallon tank.
I am using a Varios 8 as main return. Sump is below the tank. I have 1.5” drains but four 3/4” returns. I have a Varios 6 lying around. I was hoping to use it for redundancy in case main pump ever fails.

Is it feasible to plumb them independently so Varios 8 returns to the two 3/4” on one side while Varios 6 returns to other two 3/4” returns on the other side? Varios 8 will also be hooked to a manifold for reactors.

I do have an apex in case there is a way to make them communicate with each other.

I personally only run dual returns, in my case one for each return (2)

I don’t see an issue running 2 different pumps other than the pressure varying but they are dc controlled and your drain valve will balance it out
