Plumbing sump. Dimensions different after plumbing

I dry fitted all my plumbing but now that im glueing everything together nothing is aligning correctly. When you apply the primer and cement the pvc slips together alot more than when i dry fitted it so now my pvc pieces i cut are all coming up short. Has anyone experienced this?.

Yes one way to fix that is when you put the pipe in mark a line with a sharpie against the fitting so when you pull the pipe out and you glue it you know how far to push it back in. Or I like to measure the length between the two fittings and then measure the inside of the both fittings add it to the length of the pipe and cut. For example length between both fittings is 22 inches and both fittings measured on the inside are 3 inch’s cut the pipe at 25 will fit like a glove

How long do you wait for the pvc glue to dry before u can add water?
