Hello I recently setup a 45g tank its pretty much empty just sand and a Tonga branch, been about 3 weeks like that. My question is I got a sump big enough for this tank and my existing 20g so I can plumb them both into it and im wondering how long I should wait? I dont want to screw with my existing chemistry so do I just need to wait the full cycle before I can do this? The tonga branch is cycled but im worried about the sand. Thanks for any input sir :)

Also idk if its information you need but just incase, the existing 20 is an established tank going on a year has a 14g sump thx again

If the Tonga branch is covered with organic matter that is curing, I wouldn't connect them until that is done.

If the rock is fairly clean and cured, connecting them should be fine.
