I have several adapter I need to thread into bulkheads. What do you suggest? Standard plumber tape or this #5 plumbing sealant I picked up or something else?

Thanks

Which sealant did you get? PVC pipe dope (thread sealant) is usually what's recommended. You can use tape if you wish but you need to be careful with it when tightening the fittings and don't apply too much.

Manufacturers suggest never using teflon tape on threaded PVC....only pipe dope.

Here what I got. Ok so I will not use the tape. Is this stuff ok or should I get something else?

Thanks

Don’t mean to hijack here, but think it is related.

Should you always use the dope on threaded pvc connection?

Thanks, sorry if I interrupted

Ideally yes, on any threaded PVC connection you should be using pipe dope. Apply a 1/4" wide strip of dope approximately 1/4" from the end of the fitting on the threads. Screw the fittings together snuggly and you're all set:)

The stuff I posted, ok to use or do you suggest something else?

Thanks

I've honestly never used it myself so I couldn't say for certain. I use Oatley myself.
