I’m sure this question has been asked before, but can someone post a link to a good plumbing thread please? I have an exotic marine overflow, lookin for bean animal. Also need help with the return line. Looking to go 1” for both, going to pick up plumbing parts today and I’m trying to gather a list. I already have a gate valve from brs, and I’m hoping I can get the rest from Home Depot or the local hardware store. Pics and threads are helpful. Thank you all! Oh, and this is my first salt build so take it easy on me

Congrats on your first build!
Bean animals are fairly simple. The second picture in this thread works best to explain it imo.

Basically, you have 3 drain lines each with a different length standpipe. The lowest stand pipe is your full siphon drain. It is the one that needs the gate valve. You adjust the valve so that most of the flow goes down this line.
The next tallest stand pipe is your trickle drain. The little bit of water that isn't going down the full siphon drain goes down this pipe. Too much water going down it will make it loud. The height of this standpipe also determines the water level in your overflow.
The tallest stand pipe is your emergency drain. No water should go down this drain. Most of us have the bottom of this pipe end several inches above the water level in our sumps. This way it is very loud if any water does go down this line.

I'm currently running the Exotic Marine overflow myself, great choice!

I created a build thread if anyone wants to follow along
