I hate to be a "Karen".....but purple primer is not just a dye to pass inspections

Yes there is no mention of NOT using primer, just that you can get clear primer and purple primer. In plumbing the purple is proof to the inspector that you used primer on your joints, with clear you have no idea....

I highly recommend using a power miter saw if your budget and or space allotments allow for it. Use an 80 tooth carbide blade and your cuts can be amazingly accurate and you don't even need to deburr afterwards as it won't cause swelling of the pipe or leave nasty edges. This is what that looks like...

Always looking for an excuse for a new tool...lol

I second the miter saw for cutting pipe; just go slow.

Results - always square and clean cut.

will a table saw work?

Maybe, if you have a cross slide that's high enough to back the tube past the half way point with the right blade. Don't rely on guiding the end of the tube along the fence or anything. Most cross slides are pretty low profile so not sure what youry working with. It's far less safe in my opinion. It's pretty dicey, although I've never tried it personally my mind comes up with more ways it could go wrong than right lol.

I have been using PVC for decades. Never used primer unless it was being inspected. All you have to do is wipe pipe and fittings down with rubbing alcohol. All the primer does is clean really well. the "glue" has to make contact with the pvc to melt it together. If you leave burs on the end or if there is a tiny rock or piece of dirt it cuts through the glue leaving straight PVC to PVC which will not bond together leaving a channel for water to flow down creating a leak.
