I can’t figure how to properly drain and return this 60 gallon cube with sump underneath. Any ideas? I’ve included bulkhead pipe sizes in pics to get an idea what I’m working with. Any help greatly appreciated !!!

I’m trying to keep silent and maximize the flow of my COR 20... it is a living room DT so I’m nervous since this is a first at plumbing a sump

Look up durso standpipe on YouTube. Also might check out the "52 weeks of reefing" from BRS a lot of useful info including plumbing.

Would you be comfortable running a 1-2 return lines over the top of the tank, or trying to keep everything in the overflow?
I think the more and more I think about it that is the most logical. It is an eurobraced tank but less then 3” so I think I would be ok?

Is the tank an acrylic tank? If so just drill a new hole nextvto the overflow box and use thst as a return bulkhead. That way you can use the 2 bulkheads in the bottom as a herbie drain

1/2” starphire glass....

Can still be drilled. Just need a diamond coated hole saw. I did it to my tank it is not hard. Plenty of videos on how to do it.

I would use both for drains and setup a herbie drain and have the rerturn come from behind the tank over the top. Fail safe and quiet.

This. If I had it to do over again that's what I would have done on my setup.

I just ditched the megaflows on my 120 with dual overflows and went with dual Herbie and drilled the back for my return

I’m learning about plumbing lines just from reading this post. What’s connected at the top of the emergency drain pipe? Do you have a deal picture of one (Lagatbezan)?

You dont connect anything to the top of the drain pipe you want it to be wide open in the event of an emergency.

Thank you all for your suggestions
