Plumbing

Well don't listen to me because I don't know what I'm doing. I just bought one and a quarter inch PVC which I'm planning to use for everything that runs down hill or sideways, and 1 in PVC for everything that goes uphill. Following
 
Ideally you should size your plumbing to match the output of the pump. If the pump comes set up for 1 1/4 that will give you the best flow. Sometimes that is a larger than ideal so you can step down as necessary to save space and money. Just keep in mind that any reduction will reduce flow.
 
Looks like the S1 is set up for 3/4 output. That is likely what the flow and head figures are based on. Somebody please correct me if I’m wrong.
