I have a question I can't seem to find an answer for. I am setting up a new 75 and having trouble with the external overflow bullhead. Once the bullhead is installed on the overflow I am left with a threaded piece coming through the bottom of the overflow. What in tarnation do I screw onto that to run plumbing down to the sump?

Nothing.
The drain pipe glues directly into the bulkhead.
Same size as the bulkhesd is

Is the inside of the bulkhead threaded or slip? If slip, then yes, using pvc (or abs) cement is the proper choice. If it's threaded, then thread sealant (oateys PTFE) is the correct choice. Don't use much - what I do is put a fairly thin bead of sealant around the male piece so that as it is threaded in the sealant spreads itself evenly.

FWIW my personal choice are threaded. IMHO, a decent bulkhead is too expensive to replace if there's a problem - some of my bulkheads are more than 25 years old and have been used multiple times - never had one leak.

Regarding threaded bulk heads.
Yes thread sealany is recomended.
Just be careful as the sealant also lubricates.
So you may think its not tight and yet in two deep and the added force can crack the bulkhead.

I prefer the threaded plumbing as they can be reused.
