I have a 5 foot wide steel stand. I plan to put a piece of plywood on the bottom where the sump will be. The stand has a front brace back brace side braces and another middle brace about 2.5 feet from either side this is what the plywood will lay on. I have a 40 to 45 gallon sump. I have 1/2 inch plywood laying around. Will this be strong enough? Thinking of going out and getting some 3/4 inch but if I don’t need too why. Any thoughts?

I would think that as long as its braced on all edges with two braces 1/4 and 3/4 of the way through 1/2 inch should work just fine. When you consider a 40 breeder has no bottom supports where it sits on its frame you should be just fine :)
