PO4 management methods

So I happened to have some Phosbuster solution that someone gave me and I followed the direction and did two doses over 2 weeks and my phosphates came right down.

What are the pluses/minuses of using a product like that versus GFO. Someone gave me a GFO reactor but am wondering about the long term cost of the media. This is my classroom tank and I have limited budget. I'm working on getting my macroalgae and separate mangrove refugiums going.... but still waiting for growth in those.

Nothing, really. GFO works slower so it's more ideal for scenarios where you just run it in the tank every month.
