Hello everybody.
I am lowering po4 via rowaphos, I would like to know how to reduce nitrates as well.
Thanks in advance :)

Thank you so much! I think I'll try for a week with a spoon of brown sugar and see how it goes. After a couple of weeks I'll dose also some fresh phytoplankton.
In my thank i have just fishes at the moment, I've removed all the sps/lps and gave them to some friends to avoid any loss.

@hyla84 Did you come to that COA from the article linked?

Don't just go dumping sugar or a carbon source in your tank. Even the most experienced struggle with balancing nitrates and phosphates via carbon dosing and if you take either too low you will do a lot of damage. What are you nitrate and phosphate levels, and why do you think you need to lower them?

No3 maximum (salifert) po4 0.1 after rowaphos
I was thinking to dissolve 10 sugar spoon in 500 ml of water and dose 30 ml every day and see how it goes...

If you PO4 is really that level there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, but you should try to have your numbers verified with a Hanna checker since the Salifert kit is pretty questionable in accuracy.

How old is your tank? How long did you cure rock? What type of skimmer and filtration are you using? If your nitrates are really that high (100+) dosing a carbon source to get your levels low isn't a solution, it's a bandaid that will likely result in other problems.

I don't recall giving you advice, nor telling you that you had to take it...

@Ike It was a joke, brah. I gave him a solid source and viable course of action, if OP wants to dump a gallon of Mrs. Butterworth's in his tank, let him.
