PO4 reading in RODI water?

Flushing has nothing to do with tds though.

Proper way to flush? I take my DI resin out and run the unit until TDS comes down to 1-2 and then add DI resin back in. Some might say that is not the "proper" way, but it works.

Sorry, got distracted.

To properly flush it needs to be done after you make your water. You want unrestricted water flow to run through the membrane to flush out any particles that may clog the membrane. run the water for 3 mins and you're done. you do NOT go by tds as the membrane tds will start to increase on its own naturally. Spectrapure makes a manual flush kit that's a cinch to install.

A tds creep flush, your thinking a membrane. Honestly im stupid myself, my tds out of my membrane is 0. And i still go through resin due to not running production down the drain for a few seconds before the di when i first turn my unit on

Correct, and that is a separate issue.

I usually let mine run for 15 mins but it's usually because I get busy doing something else.

My guess is that's why you are going through them so quick. Have you tried spectrapure? their di silicabuster is unmatched.

Right, so his RO membrane take the water to 1-2 TDS and then his DI resin cleans it to 0-1... Sounds reasonable?

It's a horrible waste of DI resin to keep it connected while flushing the RO membranes.

Correct, I flush the membrane until TDS reads 2 or 1, which is when I reconnect the DI resin to take the water to 0. That's why I put in the OP my TDS is usually 1 in, 0 out.

Gonna do what was mentioned earlier and allow the saltwater to mix and then test that for PO4.

Freshly mixed Reef Crystals is testing at 0.00 per Hanna, so it definitely gives false readings when checking RODI water.
