Hello Everyone,

I would love any input/insight on this coral as well as some pictures and recommendations on varieties. I like the growth pattern of this type of coral and I am interested in adding it to my tank. Should I be worried about the polyp bail out ? Any advice, input, and color recommendations are greatly appreciated !!

Thanks Everyone !

Considered an easy SPS coral. If you are heavy into growing acro then you might not want it as it can be a problem if you have areas of your tank you cannot get to. In my experience it was never a problem as it is pretty simple to remove from anywhere it might pop up due to the polyp bail out. I used to let them just grow and pop them off and sell the frags. Somewhere along the way they have been weeded out of my system although not necessarily on purpose.

I used to have green and pink, rainbow, and green.

Another you may like, which get much larger and faster, is either blue or purple stylo. I have one colony over a foot wide that I have trimmed way down multiple times over the last couple years.

This is not a Stylophora?

Edit; oops, didn't read too the end!;)

I have a beautiful pink Pocillopora damicornis colony that was an Indonesian mariculture colony from Divers Den. Will snap a pic today when the lights are on. It's one of my favorites.

Doesn't spread like the weed Pocilloporas. Just a slow grower with a vibrant pink color. I've just started fragging to test in prep for the retirement tank. Frags took well and are in my biodiversity tank separate from the main system (this tank will seed my 125 gal refugium that will attach to the main display).

Here it is with the practice frags.
