Im culturing pods in my out door tank indirect light, with some chaeto, i need high birth rate, and also how do i net/collect them? As they are stuck on the glass. Its difficult for me to net them for this reason.

Currently feeding seachem phyto 1ml twice a week in 15g tank. I also have aauaforest phyto mix if thats useful. Or do i feed pellets like theraA or coral frenzy?

Plz help.

To collect them, you should be able to take the chaeto out and chake it out in some saltwater in a bucket.

Since its an outdoor tank, you should also make sure that temps are relatively consistent so as not to shock the pods and prevent them from breeding effectively.

Is the feeding ok?

I will give you a few quick tips in the math of birthrate so you KNOW what to expect with pods.
Tisbe Pods: The Tisbe Pod can live up to 2 1/2-3 months. They can ONLY reproduce 2x with a clutch of eggs 30-130. So you can end up with 60 minimum or 160 maximum in 3 months from one single Tisbe Pod.
Tigger pods(from Reef Nutrition only): The Tigger Pod can reproduce 10x in 3 a months span with a clutchs of up to 30 larvae. So you could get up to 300 pods from a single female Reef Nutrition Tigger pod. They only need to be insemination once to reproduce those 10x, because they can store the seaman of a male Tigger Pod. So if you get a bottle from Reef Nutrition and there is 2,000. Figure half that come in the bottle are females. So that means in 3 months those 1000 females can get you up 300,000 new Tigger pods.
Now that you have the knowledge of the Tigger pods life cycle and birthrate. This is what to expect.
The Tigger pods from other companies are collected from different areas and different water temperatures. The Reef Nutrition ones are hardy and withstand swings of salinity and temperature very well.
I feed mine only raw spirulina powder. I have had 2x5g tanks running for 8 months now.
Checkout the videography forum on R2R. I did a thread on them. Good tips on there.

That stinks man. Catch as many as you can and try to populate them. Hopefully what you find is the same species and not the same sex type so you can get them going. Best of luck. Probably going to take awhile.

They have multiplied, but i dont know how do i net them. They are stuck on the walls of aquarium, and they dont roam around freely.

You can use pantie hose as well. Just make sure they are not sheen. Sheen repels water.
You can also use a small micron bag that is used for small chemical medias like Purigen. Elastic band it to a mysis net.
Or just find a small micron net.

We would love to see pictures of them! I'm always interested to see what other countries experience. Where did your live rock come from? Thanks for starting this thread.

+1 for siphoning them off the glass

Can't wait!

Best,
Chad

Live rocks are from gujarat (there is a reef there at veraval). We have amphipods and copepods.

Do we have a pod culture thread?

Here is a pic of it. Cheato is just the extra one that i trim from my chaeto reactor.
