Be sure to dose phyto or reef snow once a week. Those pods will keep your mechanical filters squeaky clean. Also, try to move a bunch of them to the DT with the lights off. They'll also help keep your rocks clean of detritus and that will help keep your PO4 down regardless of your feeding habits. They're eating machines. LOL I have some in my sump that are almost 1/2" now. Keep the same feeding cycle and amounts or they'll starve if you don't supplement with phyto.
Thx and will do!
Been noticing them more and more on the rock and sand in the DT. Also noticed that after I dumped them out from the sock into the bucket, that what I thought was super fine specks at the bottom, turned out to be more of them; Assuming babies (don't know the right term; hatchlings?).

Here's one of the big boys that I've seen in the DT. There are smaller ones everywhere in the rocks. If you pick one up out of the water and hold it, you'll see pods scramble and fall back into the tank. :D

That's not what my wife said, and I quote "I'm never going in the ocean again" or something like that haha.

Man....would love to dump that whole bucket into the tank and watch the fish snatch up all those tasty snacks!

Ha the ocean comment was funny. On my Bros bachelor party we all went up to road island to the beach and my buddy came out (who is rather hairy) and had little bugs all over him. I thought it was hilarious.

I have a feeling he didn't think so...lol

Man if I don't sound depressed and ticked off in that video, lol, sorry wasn't my intent early morning.[emoji12]

Awesome man! I may have to buy a round from you! I really need more pods! HA!

I have the same in my DT, they only come out when the light is out. I don't have wrasse or mandarin. My yellow tang, tomini, clown, flame angels and damsels do not seems interested with them. Are they harmful to LpS and zoas?

No but they will clean up dying and dead tissue

A good read on the subjects of Pods in reef aquariums: http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-10/rs/

From the article:

In both the natural reef and our artificial ones copepods are common, and important animals. The large planktonic copepods characteristic of the open ocean are lacking in our systems, but many of the other types of copepods are commonly found. Their populations in our tanks may be immense; in a large tank, the harpacticoids probably number in the millions. Their contribution to the tank's energy and nutrient flux is considerable and of great importance to the well being of our aquaria. This notwithstanding, we must also be aware that, as with most large animal groups, not all of the animals likely to be found will be desirable. Some copepods are very well adapted to the parasitic mode of life and these animals, as well as their beneficial brethren, often are found in our aquaria.

2nd change out, fead some to the wrasses, never seem them move that fast to eat.:)
The dark clumps are the pods clinging together.

Just got my hands on Brewman's Brew Phyto Mix!
Dosing the tanks tonight, thanks for the major hookup @Brewman1987 !
