Pod Palace

Seems kinda gimmicky, live rock is already doing this. They also call it a "Copepod Breading Block", who's frying up pods? ;Hilarious
Agreed 100%! I prefer my pods steamed but ok breading it is :p
It can't possibly be more efficient than live rock, a healthy sand bed, & dosing phyto imo

I was given one a while back, so threw it in the sump. It does house pods and makes it easy to snag and shake them into the DT for a funny show of fish going nuts, but outside of that, a few pieces of rock rubble would be much better IMO.

But if you want to go that route, a simple bath sponge ball thing (cant remember the exact name) that looks like a puff ball works just as well. It even has a string on it, so you can hang from side of sump and never have to stick your hands in there.

Eagle_Steve brings in the "Nem Cannon" and is now adding the "ES Pod Loofah" lol

Hey man I'm all for it! There's a lot of useful stuff at the dollar store
That is correct.

$2 for sponge thingy = funny fish chasing pods around in the water column

$3 grout sponge and left over pvc scrap = easy nem removal tool.

$1.50 all platic toilet bowl brush = nver having to take skimmer out to clean it. Drain skimmer cup into a bucket, remove the cup, swish the skimmer body with the toilet brush, replace skimmer cup and wait 15 minutes for gunk to go in cup. Dump cup then dump bucket.

For less than 10 bucks you have 3 awesome things for reefing. Sadly, I can go on and on about cool little hacks i have used over the past 35+ years in this hobby lol.

Ill add to this list that i learned about recently. $5 pack of metal straws connected to airline tubing = bubble algae, zoa, xenia/other pest remover

I always used larger plastic airline. I could cut the end of the airline to be a point or heat it up with a heat gun and mold it to be like a scraper then chop off a part (say top part if laying flat. This allows for razor blade like scraping and the stuff still goes in the tube with the siphon going.
