I see critters that looks like pods pestering one of my paly colony. Now half of the colony is closed up. Positive they are pods and not nudis. What is the best way to remove them? Dip is out of the question since the palys is on my main rock. Maybe natural predator? My livestock includes two clowns, a chromis, a cardinal and a yellow tang.

I had a small colony of hallucinations, about 6-8 polyps, and they got overrun by pods and all of them eventually melted besides one. After that I keep a six line wrasse in every tank. I would recommend getting some wrasses asap.

Most pods are beneficial and provide a natural food source so I would not look to get rid off them unless you know they are causing harm. They are sometimes seen on dying or struggling corals so they get the blame. If you want to control or eliminate them you could either go the natural or chemical route.
Natural pod predators like wrasses, dragon face pipe fish, mandarin, etc will likely not eliminate an established pod population since they reproduce too quickly but they could keep them under control.
If you want to get rid off all the pods then look into milbemycin oxime (interceptor). I’d personally only use it as a last resort so I’m not suggesting you should try it but just bringing your attention to it. I know a few people who have used it to get rid off red bugs successfully without any harm to corals or fish. They did, however, have to remove all cleanup crew as they are affected by this med as well. You’d also need to perform a large water change as this stuff will kill worms.
