I have a stand alone refugium. It is plumbed in such a way that my return pump feeds it as well as the DT. I have a gate valve on the fuge's feed line to control the flow. If I take my filter socks out some of the extra foods I feed the DT can make their way to the refugium. Any way I've been feeding the DT heavy and dropping some pellets into the fudge to try and drive up nitrates. I've also been running no filter socks every couple days for a couple days. This week I noticed a small piece of nori had made its way into the refugium and was lodged in the rocks. That piece of nori was swarmed with pods. I have since been taking small pieces of norie and sticking them in little cracks and crannies in the rocks in my refugium. The pods just swarm like a hive of ants and devour the nori in less than a day. These pieces of nori are a little larger than a quarter. Just thought I would share, it seems to be an easy cost effective way to potentially boost your pod population. Most reefers probably have some nori laying around. Sorry for the crappy phone pics.

Actually that is brilliant, I run full zeovit and have a difficult time keeping macro algae. I do have a lighted refugium with live rock and some PODs, I will try this.

I was shocked, they eat it right up. It's pretty cool watching them scurry all over the place while they eat it.
