Pods & Phyto and micro algae, oh my

Well I wanted to post this for all the folks that ask what phyto and pods can do. I have a very VERY new tank but have been tossing pods and phyto in as I wait and wait and wait for my fish to arrive. Any way, I know that some folks ask what do pyhto and pods do and are they worth it? This will be hard to see but that line of white dots is pods on the un cleaned pane of my aquarium. They are munching away on the micro algae. Inside the line is usual algae build up - outside the line is clear glass. I will continue to monitor this but I am convinced that I have had a much easier ride (so far) than most due to the dosing of phyto and pods.

This is indeed interesting.

My new reef has algae "problems" and I am pulling over tons of amphipods from my very established reef tank, because it has way more than it needs. I know that a bunch don't make it because of marauding butterflys, but I am sure some do.

It looks like the algae in the new reef is starting to abate. It's too early to tell, but this post seems to support what I am seeing.

Ohhhh ... forgot to ask what kind of pods are you getting?

I have been a fluttering butterfly but my most ardent beaux and the one i have returned to has been @AlgaeBarn and the 5280 pods. My most recent addition has been their pods with oceanmagik. I wish I had drawn a sharpie line on the tank this morning and then I could have documented the movement by this afternoon. I had a snail track through the algae film and the pods are steadily making their way toward it. It looks like a map of the battle of the bulge right now. Good news - the allies are winning!
