So when do I add pods to my refugium

I'm about to start my refugium and I didn't know if I should do the Cato algae first and let it grow and then add pods after my first harvest or is it the reverse order and just add pods and K2 at the same time And I guess my other question is how often do I re add pods from that algae farm.com place and phytoplankton to feed them

I don’t think you’ll have to wait until you get chaeto b4 u start adding pods. However, pods usually reproduce in the chaeto. Just make sure you have some live rock in the fuge for the pods to live in.

My chaeto didn’t really grow well when I first established my tank, so based off my experience, I wouldn’t really rush it unless you have a lot of excess po4 and no3 for it to feed on.

I personally have never once fed phyto plankton. I personally don’t think it’s really necessary unless you need a lot of pods for a dragonet or something that feeds on pods primarily. That also goes for re-adding pods, you don’t really need to unless you want more diverse species of them or if you need more pods for dragonets, sand-sifting stars, etc.

I had little to no success growing chaeto but had lots of pods. So imo it doesn't make any difference what you do first. I do agree that you should have some live rock in the refugium for the pods in the absence of chaeto.
