I would like to have a discussion inquiring on everyone’s opinions on stocking pods in a tank and the best methods people have found. I am looking to get a mandarin some time in the future and would like to be prepared and I have received multiple opinions.

I'm just getting back in but when I started out pods and mysis shrimp just showed up but people traded a lot more than what I see now. So there was a lot of cross inoculation so to speak.

Just put them in the display. That's where the Mandarin is going to be, and eat, so there needs to be a population of pods available.
It wouldn't hurt to add them into the fuge as well.
If you start with them in the fuge, you'll have to wait a while for them to populate the display. They have to get there first, and that means going through the return pump.
Added them to both DT and fuge.

I have a huge fuge.. well 49 gallons huge anyways lol.. with 100 lbs of rock packed in there... and it's a xenia fuge too.. and an algae scrubber..
90 display tank... I out half the pods in the display and half in the fuge..
I've got 2 mandis and a scooter..
Mandis are about 1.5 inch long.. I got them when they were bairly a half inch long... they live in the fuge... scooter lives in the display.. all 3 are fat and happy!
